Pin up, more.

So you saw the mini pinboards earlier in the week, here's a slightly larger version (50 x 45cm approx.) in soft grey and coral.  This pinboard would be great to show a collection of photographs and memorabilia, or could just be flash way to keep your desk tidy!
You'll be able to find these pieces and more at the 'For the Love of' Vintage Fair in Saltburn-by-the-Sea on the 14th July, as well as many other fairs over the next few months.  Lillian's House is also hoping to open an online shop, we will keep you updo date on the goings on...

Patchwork love...

...you might have seen a smidgen of a patchwork inspired print on my last blog post...here's a bit more.  Over the last few days i have been fooling around with colour for the print and i thought id share a few pictures to see what you think!  I have a 'penchant' for soft brights as you can see from the first image and this allways battles with my love of all things muted and serene a la second image.  So many colours and which ones to choose...this will be my dilemma forever!
Any thoughts would be helpful, perhaps i will use this print in both muted and soft bright colours, perhaps, perhaps, perhaps...

Blue skies, spoons & Pigment Pots

Blue sky, spoons and pigment pots, a small peek into my printing this week!
As promised, some snaps from the studio...i've been playing around with my Poppy Collection imagery over the last few days, tweaking things here and there.  You'll see above some bits of print that i have been experimenting with, working out colourways and scale, hopefully to be taken forward onto some gorgeous linens which arrived through the post this week! Watch this space!
Also a bit of patchwork has crept into my print ideas of late, i've had a softspot for patchwork for a while now...you can see a quick smidgen of this patchworky print going on in the first pic, i'll have to see where it takes me.  Ill post some more of my experiments of this patchwork malarky soon, maybe you could all help me out with some colourway ideas?

Lillian's House on 'Rainy Day Greys'

Can you see a snippet of a particular 'Poppy' print in this lovely moodboard by What Katy Did Next
I do I do!!
The top left hand corner features a detail from a print from the Lillian's House 'Poppy' Collection...soon to be available.  I had to share this moodboard with you after i stumbled upon it perusing the quite delicious, What Katy Did Next blog.  I was so happy to see the print sat alonside some of the fabulous images that Katy pulls together to make her inspirational wedding moodboards, and thought i'd share it with you.  Lillian's House is all about handprinted product and I am so pleased to see this being incorporated in an imaginative way into the wedding market, even in an inspirational manner!  I hope you agree that the whole board is rather sumptious, you can't go wrong with 'Rainy Day Greys'! Thankyou Katy x
All images in this moodboard are linked to suppliers from What Katy Did Next's blog.

Poppy Prints

Last year i stumbled across a rather delicious patch of light pink poppy's in my Nana's garden and couldn't resist taking some photo's to work from later. Stored away for a while, i rediscovered the pictures and the beginning of this little collection came about.

You can see some snippets of the 'Poppy prints' down the side of my blog page but i thought i would show you some framed versions of the prints which will be available very soon. I am currently developing the 'Poppy' collection to include a few other products, perhaps a cushion or two...i will keep you posted.

The poppy images are all hand screen printed by 'Lillian's House' and are roughly A3 in size. Colourways can be changed upon request to match the perfect space in your house!

This print is a limited edition.

I just love how this looks!

Saw this clever little film last night...Catch Me If You Can... and yes althought the film was good Mr Spielberg, i was more enthralled by the title sequence! I love how the illustrations look as if they have been stamped or printed, inspired much, yes. Plus rather delicious colour ways, quite bold for me but perhaps a bold bit of colour is good for everyone now and again? Opening sequence by...Kuntzel & Deygas (2002). Do You like it too??

Rigwood Manor...the story

So yesterday was a lovely day for Lillian's House. After a lot pacing in front of the laptop the 'Rigwood Manor' shoot, which Lillian's House was involved in, appeared on the wonderful 'Love My Dress' vintage wedding blog for all to see.

If you havn't seen any of my posts about this shoot i'll give you a bit of 'back' story so you know what im talking about! A certain two ladies are the driving force behind this wedding shoot; Becky Mitchell and Vicky Trainor. These two, Becky, a photographer and Vicky, a wedding staitioner and designer, brought a wonderful group of talented people together to collaborate and share their own individual talents to showcase what the North East can offer the wedding market. The 'Rigwood Manor' shoot was born. With a beautiful vintage 50's theme developed by Becky and Vicky the shoot was full of wonderful colour, twinkling silverware and flouncy florals that were styled seamlessly.

Lillian's House was invited to contribute, and some t's to be worn with lovely dove grey tutu's from Bo&Bo, were born. Part of a major inspiration for Lillian's House are the 50's and vintage textiles from this era, so the excuse to be involved in a proect with this theme was just mouth watering. Lillian's House also supplied the sashes worn by the little bridesmaids, which i hope you agree, compliment the t's and tutu's seamlessly (the moodboards for this project can be seen in a previous post). I'll post some detailed pictures of the t's and sahes very soon but in the meantime here are a few of the imges from the 'Rigwood Manor' shoot...i hope you enjoy... pleasego to 'Love My Dress' for more pictures.

Here are a list of the other very talented guys and dolls who contibuted to bits and pieces in the pictures above...i will be posting a full list of details of all of the team who were involved in the 'Rigwood Manor' shoot and the 'Amaryllis and Lace' shoot very very soon.

Styling & Wedding Staitionary - Vicky Trainor & The Vintage Drawer

Have a look at the dreamy Amarylis and Lace shoot that Becky and Vicky styled alongside the 'Rigwood Manor' set which was featured on Brides up North, who will also be showing 'Behind the scenes of Rigwood Manor' very soon.

Lastly, a very big thankyou to Vicky and Becky, i have had a wonderful time and met some wonderful people being involved in this project x

Some Little T-shirts for little Bridesmaids.

This little t-shirt was one of the t-shirts featured in the 'Rigwood Manor' photoshoot recently, you may have seen a few sneaky peeks of the shoot itself on my blog or facebook page 'Lillian's House'. The final images form the shoot are going to be published on 'Love My dress' blog tomorow and i'm very excited to see the how everything looks!

The t-shirts are entirely hand silk screen printed (with love) and were worn with co-ordinating sashes that tied in lovely flowery bows, also hand printed by Lillain's House.

Have you seen the 'l & p' detail on the back of the t-shirt? They are initials which could be the bride and groom of the day... this hopes to make the t-shirts into keepsakes and presents for the little bridesmaids, a reminder of a special day they were involved in. The t-shirts will be available soon (will keep you posted) as plain versions but please get in touch to chat if you like the ideas of having your initials on the t-shirts, also available soon.

These images were taken by Becky Mitchell, who also photographed the Rigwood Manor Shoot, alongside Vicky Trainor (stationer/stylist/flowerlady), both very talented ladies.

Print & Biscuits...perfect

After having a quick scooch around the Guardians House & Home blog I came accross this wonderful lady and her wonderful cushions...

Nikki McWilliams was featured at the Top Drawer exhibition at Earls Court recently and after spotting these cushions I can see why!! Who can go wrong with print and biscuits combined! My favourite is the 'Tunnocks Teacake' cushion. All of cushions are hand printed which is what i love most. I want them all!! Simple is sometimes best...i must remeber this rule and keep repeating it. SIMPLE IS SOMETIMES BEST

(p.s. image to follow in a bit, blogger seems does not want to play at the moment)
